Iron and Manganese Removal

We offer this system in three types: Fleck, Siata and our own Gemu Multi Valve control arrangements this enables the media to be automatically backwashed by Time or Volume this will depend on the application.

We have a number of Media Options to choose from these being “Crystal Right”, “Birm”, “Manganese Dioxide” (Filox R is a common Trade Name) and “Manganese Greensand” all of which are good at removing these impurities unfortunately a good water analysis is required as each media has its strengths and weaknesses faced with different types of Iron and Manganese fouled waters these typically being Bore Hole Water supplies.

Some of these medias can be regenerated others cannot these types of media rely on the pH being correct and the Iron in the water being oxidised by either “Oxygen” or “Chlorine” to Filter the impurity out.

If this type of Filtration is required and is specified and installed correctly they work turning unusable water into Clean Clear safe to use water, we do not recommend our clients treat this system as a DIY unit without our assistance, all our engineers are fully trained and know exactly how to set this type of system up and know what to look for.
